On September 22, Thursday, Afaq Masud, People’s Writer of Azerbaijan, Board Chair of the Azerbaijan State Translation Centre (AzSTC) received a visit from Maria Angelica Steer, Charge d'Affaires a.i of the Republic of Colombia to Azerbaijan.
The meeting focused on upcoming projects aimed to enhance literary ties between Azerbaijan and Colombia, prospects for literary exchange between the two countries, placement of the poem “Seven Beauties” by the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi in state and public libraries, educational and cultural centres of Colombia, promotion of classical and modern Azerbaijani literature, history and culture, as well as the realization of relevant activities planned in Colombia, as well as in other countries of Latin America.
Maria Angelica Steer: “I express my deep gratitude for the publication and promotion of the works by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, who is the pride of our nation, in a refined style and of high quality. The selection of works and the design of the book are made with both high professionalism and taste. We are planning to organize a wide presentation of the book at the embassy.”
