"Selected Works" by J.D. Salinger is Out

The Azerbaijan State Translation Centre (AzSTC) is pleased to announce about the publication of “Selected Works” by Jerome David Salinger, the world-famous American writer, as part of a 150-volume series “Pearls of World Literature”.

The book which begins with the writer’s interview titled “I Write Only for Myself” includes the writer’s famous novel “The Catcher in the Rye”, such short stories as “Both Parties Concerned”, “Go See Eddie”, “The Young Folks”, “Elaine”, “This Sandwich Has No Mayonnaise”, “The Stranger”, “A Young Girl in 1941 with No Waist at All”, “De Daumier-Smith's Blue Period”, “Teddy”, as well as his daughter Margaret Salinger’s memoir “Dream Catcher”, dedicated to her father.

The authors of the translation are notable literary translators Tehran Valiyev, Nariman Abdulrahmanly and Rabiga Nazimgyzy.

    The presentation ceremony of the book “Heydar Aliyev and Georgia” dedicated to the “Year of Heydar Aliyev” and published by the leading Georgian “Merani” Publishing House has been held in Tbilisi. In her opening speech at the event launched in the large assembly hall of the Parliament of Georgia Makvala Gonashvili, the Chairman of the Writers’ Union of Georgia and winner of the Rustaveli State Prize, spoke about Heydar Aliyev’s decisive role in the political, economic and social life of Georgia in the difficult periods of its history and energy projects thanks to which fundamental changes in the field of policy and economic realities in the region had been achieved.
