A Book of Poems by Makvala Gonashvili Is Out
The Azerbaijan State Translation Centre has published a collection of selected poems “The One Thousand Second Night” by Makvala Gonashvili, the notable Georgian poetess, Chairman of the Writers’ Union of Georgia. The book, which provides detailed information on the author, includes poems on the topics of homeland, love, life and death, such as “The Way”, “The Divine Voice”, “Thanksgiving”, “The Temple for Solitude”, “Confession”, “The Meeting”, “The Truth”, to name a few.
Makvala Gonashvili, whose works have been translated into very many languages of the world, has become famous on the world poetry arena with such poetry books as “Bonfire of Poppies”, “Tears of the Sun”, “I Love You”, “Names And Figures”, “The Call” “From Here to You.”
The author of the foreword to the book is the notable writer Etimad Bashkechid, the translator from Georgian is the poet Imir Mammadli, and the editors are Mahir N. Garayev, the poet, and Shafiga Shafa.
