The new "Spelling Dictionary of the Azerbaijani Language", compiled by the Azerbaijan State Translation Centre in 2023, has been released in Ankara with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye, and Hacettepe University.

The mentioned edition, published in Türkiye under the title “Spelling Dictionary of the Azerbaijani Language for the Common Means of Communication in the Turkic World” (“Türk Dünyası Ortak İletişim Dili Uğrunda – Azerbaycan Dilinin Yazım Kılavuzu”), brings the saying of the great leader Heydar Aliyev “One nation, two states” to life.

It should be noted that being a manual on the common Turkic language, the book is intended both for students and teachers of the faculties “Turkic dialects and literatures”, “Turkish language and literature”, “Linguistics”, “Translation”, “Pedagogy”, “Journalism” of Turkish universities and for the general reader.

The author-compiler of the dictionary, published by “Erkmen” publishing house, which has rich traditions, is Afaq Masud, the People’s Writer of Azerbaijan. The author of the foreword is the prominent Turkish scholar and linguist Shukru Haluk Akalın, who for many years served as President of the Turkish Language Association, and Founding Director of the Centre for Applied Linguistics and Scientific Research at Hacettepe University.
