PREFACE

For the convenience of using the book, about 500 translated words and phrases are given in transcription, that is, in Latin in Arabic pronunciation. The Arabic, as well as the Azerbaijani language, has special letters and sounds which do not have any equivalents. For example, the letter " ddad" (ض), interdental sounds " thaa’ " (ث) and "thal" (ذ), guttural sounds "h" (ح) and " eain" (ع).

A large number of words of Arabic and Persian origins are still being used in the Azerbaijani language today.
