Norwegian Embassy Official Visits Azerbaijan Translation Centre
Ambassador Olav-Nils Thue who has assumed the role of Chargé d’affaires a.i. at the Norwegian Embassy in Baku, visited the Azerbaijan Translation Centre (AzTC) on Monday to exchange views on how to foster literary and cultural bridges between Azerbaijan and Norway.
The guests were given an update on Norway’s well-known prose writers and poets such as Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson, Knut Hamsun, Henrik Ibsen, Arvid Torgeir, Jostein Gaarder, Tarjei Vesaas, and others whose works had been translated and published into Azerbaijani through AzTC during different periods. Thue’s visit is part of AzTC’s project to promote Azerbaijani Literature in Norway.
In conclusion, the Norwegian diplomat was donated copies of the books in translation “Twentieth-Century Short Stories from Norway” and “The Ice Palace” by Tarjei Vesaas.
