Azerbaijan Building Up Literary Ties With Spain
The Azerbaijan Translation Centre (AzTC) on Friday received a visit from İgnacio Sánchez Taboada, the Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain to the Republicof Azerbaijan, for a roundtable discussion on how to expand literary ties between Azerbaijan and Spain.
The sides focused on AzTC’s international literary projects, and the publication of works by famous Spanish prose writers, such as Federico García Lorca, Eduardo Mendosa, Miguel Delibes, Cunqueiro Álvaro, Antonio Machado, Juan R. Jiménez and others over time. And issues relating to the publication of “An Anthology of Modern Azerbaijan Literature” in Spanish were the point of discussion.
The sides also exchanged views on several pieces written by Camilo José Cela, a prominent Spanish novelist and story writer, translated into Azerbaijani and to be published in the near future.
