Musa Kazim Arijan, Chairman of Writers’ Union of Turkey: ‘Just Literature Will Take Us to the Development of Our Cultural Unity’

   In his recent interview with the official website of the Union of Turkish Writers (www.tyb.org.tr) Musa Kazim Arijan shared his views on the Memorandum signed between the Azerbaijan State Translation Centre and the Writers’ Union of Turkey and spoke about the promotion of literature of the two brotherly countries.  “It is planned to publish works in electronic mass media, periodicals, as well as in the book formats, hold joint presentations, round tables and other events for the promotion of the literature of the two countries. I believe the projects will play an important role in filling the gaps in this field,” said Musa Kazim Arijan.

   Musa Kazim Arijan also stressed the need for the conclusion of a memorandum with other Turkic states, adding that the new roads to be built after the victory in Karabakh will bring geographical proximity, and just Literature will take us to the development of cultural unity of the great Turkic world. Cooperation with the Azerbaijan State Translation Centre will give rise to new opportunities in cultural-literary spheres and in politics”, said the Chairman.

   Speaking about the need for joint cooperation in such areas as language, music, theatre and cinematography, Musa Kazim Arijan noted that literature and art figures play a great role in the realization of ideas in regard of national and spiritual unity, and expressed confidence that cooperation with the Azerbaijan State Translation Centre will be successful in these fields.  “Along with common historical books of the Turkic world, there is a great need for the publication of fiction. As the Writers’ Union of Turkey, we are ready to do our best in this aspect.”
