Ramiz Rovshan and Vilayat Quliyev Honoured with AzSTC Award
On the occasion of the International Translation Day, the Azerbaijan State Translation Centre awarded Ramiz Rovshan, the People's Poet of Azerbaijan, for his translation of the poem “The Black Man” by Sergei Yesenin, and Professor Vilayat Guliyev, a linguist, PhD in Philology, for his translation of “1984” and “Animal Farm” by George Orwell from the original at a high professional level with its Special Prize, the Honorary Diploma and the Badge.
Ramiz Rovshan - the author of books of poetry: “A Rainy Song”, “The Sky Does Not Hold Stones”, “Breath is a Book of Books”, “Key to Love”; the author of film scripts: “Our Grandfather’s Grandfather”, “ Pain of a Milk Tooth”, “Another Time” and “Space Melody”; and the author of the translation of books by Alexander Blok, Alexander Pushkin, Anna Akhmatova, Federico Garcia Lorca, Grigore Vieru, Marina Svetayeva, Mikhail Lermontov, Semyon Kirsanov, Sergei Yesenin, Charles Baudelaire, Vladimir Mayakovsky. |
