Hertfordshire Press Announces Literary Award for Leyla Aliyeva's Book

The British Library has hosted a Literary Award ceremony in London, instituted by the British publishing house "Hertfordshire Press". The event was attended by well-known British prominent figures of art and culture, representatives of diplomatic missions accredited to the United Kingdom.

Caroline Walton, a well-known English translator has won the nomination “Translator of the Year” for talented Azerbaijani poet Leyla Aliyeva’s book 'The World Dissolves like a Dream'.  

David Perry, a member of the Royal Society of Arts, Marat Akhmedjanov, Vice-president of Eurasian Creative Guild and others made speeches at the event. They expressed their views on the goals of the prize. Then the winners were announced at the event.

The speakers stated that, “this publication is of great importance in promoting valuable examples of Azerbaijani literature, analyzing and studying contemporary Azerbaijani poetry, and focusing on young and talented Azerbaijani poets’ writings.”

Anna Maria Jackson, a well-known English poet, is the co-translator of the book.
