Newly Appointed French Ambassador Zacharie GrossVisits AzSTC
The Azerbaijan State Translation Centre (AzSTC) on Monday received a visit from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Azerbaijan Zacharie Gross and Director of the Institut Français d'Azerbaïdjan Maurice Rufin.
The meeting focused on literary ties between Azerbaijan and France. The guests were informed on the book An Anthology of Azerbaijani Literature in French translation and the launch event for the publication in the central Book House, Strasbourg, as well as works by France’s prose writers and poets AzSTC had translated and published into Azerbaijani over the years such as Jean Anouilh, Charles Pierre Baudelaire, Paul-Marie Verlaine, Albert Camus, François Charles Mauriac, Arthur Rimbaud, to name just a few.
Later, the sides focused on joint projects to promote Azerbaijani literature in France, and French literature in Azerbaijan.
In conclusion, the guests were donated copies of The Testament by André Maurois in Azerbaijani translation, published by AzSTC
