Argentinian Ambassador Visits AzTC

The Azerbaijan Translation Centre under the Cabinet of Ministers (AzTC) on Friday received a visit from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Argentine Carlos Dante Riva to Azerbaijan, for a roundtable discussion on the final work to translate and publish into Azerbaijani The Invention of Morel by Adolfo Bioy Casares. It is a joint project between AzTC and the Embassy of Argentine.

“The Center is in the process of printing the book to be released soon. Argentine’s famous writers, such as J.L.Borges, J. Cortázar and E.Sabato awaked a strong interest in Argentine literature among Azerbaijani readers,” AzTC Director Afag Masud said, expressing hope that they will also have a keen interest in reading Casares whose work is published in Azerbaijani for the first time.

In turn, Ambassador Riva underlined that the work will make a significant contribution in expanding Azerbaijan-Argentine cultural relations. “I hope we can work together on future projects,” he added.
