Azerbaijani Artist Paints The World In Colors - Nadir Abdurahmanov

While getting an insight into the history of our fine arts, we can see how our artists have created and shaped own individual style. Gaining success in art is not that easy. One of such artists is Nadir Abdurahmanov. He has own creative style. His works are rich in aesthetic art qualities. 

Nadir Abdurahmanov was born in 1925 in Lachin, one of Azerbaijan's fascinating districts. The charming nature of Lachin captured his imagination and spurred his interest in painting. He graduated from both the A. Azimzade State Art School in Azerbaijan (1941-1944) and from the I. Repin St. Petersburg State Academy Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1947-1953). A. Milnikov and V. Greshnikov, outstanding artists, taught him the secrets of art.  

Abdurahmanov first pursued medicine at the Azerbaijan State Medical University (1944-1947. He could never make distinction between his strong devotion to painting and love to colours.

He was Chairman of Azerbaijan's Union of Painters (1961-1970) and Secretary of the Union of Painters of the USSR (1963-1973).  In 1960, he became the Honoured Artist of Azerbaijan and in 1964, the People Artist of Azerbaijan. Abdurahmanov was on creative travels to France, Italy, Norway, Bulgaria, North Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, and other countries. His several individual art exhibitions were held in the country and outside it. His works on different topics are kept in various prestigious museums, art galleries, and private collections. 

The peculiarities of the artist's works that make them differ from others are their topics full of lyrism, specific art resolution, rich of colourism and decorative value.
