The Baku Congress Centre hosted a launch of the book The Pain by Arye Gut and Amir Gut, the publisher for which is the Azerbaijan State Translation Centre (AzSTC). This book in the Azerbaijani translation is part of the international campaign “Justice for Khojaly”, an initiative by Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva. Arye Gut, an author of the work; Farid Jafarov, the Executive Director of the Youth Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Nigar Hasanzade, a poet; Asad Farajov and Valeh Huseynov, witnesses to the Khojaly massacre, made speeches at the event. They evaluated the Khojaly tragedy as one of the most horrifying crimes against humanity unprecedented in the history of mankind. It is a wound that can never be healed.
The novel, based primarily on the facts and archive materials, can play a greater role in presenting the details of the tragedy and Armenian vandalism to the world community through the artistic depiction and facts.
