Leila Aliyeva’s Selected Poems Appear in a Georgian Newspaper
“Ukimerioni” (უქიმერიონი), a proven Georgian newspaper under the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, has posted selected verses by the notable poet Leila Aliyeva, a winner of the “Key to Life” award presented annually by the Children`s Cancer & Blood Foundation (CCBF), a registered charity in the United States, and a recipient of the Pushkin Gold Medal. These poems in Georgian translation include, We Run, We Fly, We Hurry, Time, Shops and Restaurants and Tears, to name a few.
The translator into Georgian is Georgia’s popular poet Makvala Gonashvili, Chairman of the Georgian Writers’ Union.
The newspaper has regularly posted samples of worldwide renowned authors throughout its 30-years of activity.
