Revered Scholar Şükrü Akalın in Turkey to Promote Azerbaijani Language and Literature
The Azerbaijan State Translation Centre (AzSTC) on Tuesday received a visit from Professor Şükrü Halûk Akalın, an outstanding linguist and director of the Lexicology Research and Application Centre at Hacettepe University in Ankara.
The meeting dealt with projects to further develop ties in the field of literature between Azerbaijan and Turkey, including the edition of Khazar World Literature Magazine and the collection of Love Poems by Mikayil Mushfig in Turkish translation.
“Presently under my scientific supervision, two students have been undertaking graduate theses on the use of language and vocabulary in the samples of Azerbaijani literature. And our University’s curricula is going to include the teaching of the Azerbaijani language,” said Akalın.
