As part of the visit to Turkey to attend the 33rd International Istanbul Book Fair, AzTC representatives – Etimad Bashkechid and Farid Huseyn met with Mr Hamdi Turshuchu, Ankara-based TEDA Director General (organization supporting translation of work on Turkish Culture, Art and Literature into world languages).
Farid Huseyn, Media and Publishing Consultant at AzTC, briefed on the history, targets and perspectives of the Translation Centre. Mr. Hamdi Turshuchu of TEDA – an organization known for its activities on translation and distribution of Turkish literature worldwide - welcomed the timely creation of AzTC: “Nowadays, all nations in their own way support the translation industry, propagate own literature, and arrange translation of distinguished literary examples from world poetry and prose. We have always encouraged efforts and activities contributing to the distribution of Turkish culture throughout the world”.
TEDA General Director later expressed their readiness to share experience and to launch cooperation with AzTC.
Certain joint projects and proposals for cooperation were the focus of discussion.
