On 7 November 2014, Director of the Translation Centre under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AzTC) Afag Masud hosted in a meeting Andrzej Kneifel, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland to Azerbaijan.
After welcoming, AzTC Director thanked the Polish diplomat tremendously for accepting the invitation to visit the Translation Centre, about which she put the distinguished quest in the picture.
Later, Afag Masud recalled examples from Polish prose and poetry translated and published into Azerbaijani – Czesław Miłosz, Wisława Szymborska, who won the Nobel Prize in Literature, as well Tadeusz Różewicz, Witold Gombrowicz and others.
The meeting focused on building a new and more professional type of Polish-Azerbaijani literary correlations, producing in Poland a perfect literary translation and publication of Azerbaijani literary and scientific heritage into the Polish language, as well as establishing ties with Poland’s relevant language and translation industry entities. “In order to familiarize Azerbaijani readers with the history of Polish language and science in a qualitative and comprehensive manner, and to smooth bilateral relations between our countries, today AzTC’s capacity has been further expanded thanks to the care and attention provided by our government,” Afag Masud said.  
Mr. Andrzej Kneifel, in turn, thanked AzTC Director for the invitation and assessed inter-literary exchanges as the most continuous and sustainable relationship among peoples and nations. He later focused on historical, political and cultural bridges existing between Poland and Azerbaijan. 
The diplomat expressed hope for the establishment of close and continuous ties between AzTC and a relevant entity in Poland in terms of making perfect translations of Polish literature into the Azerbaijani language and Azerbaijani literature into the Polish language.
At the end of the meeting, gifts consisting of AzTC’s books and printing material were given to the guest.
