AzTC Representatives Visit London Book Fair 2015
A delegation of the Translation Centre under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Azerbaijan Republic (AzTC) headed by its Director Afag Masud is visiting the London Book Fair, April 14-16. As the publisher, AzTC is showcasing and promoting its materials at the event, including the catalog of world poetry and prose translated into the Azerbaijani language, editions from its Books Series, the latest issues of Khazar World Literature magazine, the Anthology of Poetry “Candles: 101 Verses”, etc. The delegation is expected to hold meetings on cooperation with English PEN, Free Word Centre, as well as other translation enterprises.
The Ambassador of the Azerbaijan Republic to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Tahir Tagizade, has also visited the London Book Fair, one of the world’s biggest book trade events that opened its doors in west London’s Olympia. At the meeting with AzTC Director Masud, Ambassador Tagizade underlined the steps to promote books on Azerbaijan’s literature and culture in Great Britain.
It is worth noting that Azerbaijan’s booth organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism is showcasing books on Azerbaijani statehood, Karabakh truth, as well as its culture, arts and literature.
Representatives from the Translation Centre, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the Azerbaijan National Library, representing Azerbaijani culture and literature, are visiting the book fair.
