AzTC Discussed Future Areas of Focus

A roundtable discussion on implementation of works was held at the Translation Centre under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Azerbaijan Republic (AzTC). The event was attended by administrative staff, department heads, as well as senior-level editorial staff of Khazar magazine and Aydin Yol newspaper.
The meeting primarily focused on priority issues, including but not limited to, prospects for lines of activities, challenges, as well as other issues to develop and promote the language and translation.
AzTC Director Afag Masud wished success in this difficult and honorary task. She spoke about gaps in the translation industry, amateur approaches to this sphere.
"Translation today is the source of income. Unfortunately, various fields of science, education and literature are also impacted by such approach. AzTC’s key function is to breathe new life into the translation industry, and keep it away from non-professionals,” Afag Masud added.
In the end, the heads of Education, Culture & Science, Official Correspondence and Publishing departments gave speeches on general work and promising projects.
