AzTC, Nordic Literature Promotion and Publishing House Boost Literary Ties
A delegation from the Translation Centre under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AzTC) has met with representatives of the Nordic Literature Promotion and Publishing House within the frame of the 22nd Budapest Book Fair. This body is dealing with the translation of patterns of literary works by authors from Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norwegian and Sweden into world languages, as well as the translation of world literary patterns into the language of these five Nordic countries and their distribution.
The translation and publication of the book “Anthology of Modern Azerbaijan Literature” in the above-mentioned countries was the point of discussion. Mr. Balasiz Eastwan, a representative of the organizer shared his opinions about perspectives for cooperation: “The organization I represent here, is interested in the translation of Eastern and Azerbaijani literary patterns into the languages of Nordic nations. Existence of such a state body as the Translation Centre is a positive fact. We would like to have a continuous cooperation with your Centre,” he added.
Kamilla Grebbe, a writer, Head of a Swedish audio book publisher StorySide, shared her opinions: “I present my country at this book fair as a writer,” she added. “Azerbaijan is at the focus of world interest. I think the translation and popularization of authors’ works from both countries will greatly contribute to enhancing ties between our countries. As for me, the establishment of close ties with the Translation Centre is an important step to be made in this respect.”
