Nasimi’s Poetry Collection Launched in Zhytomyr and Poltava
Nasimi’s poetry collection I Have Set Myself on the Road of Truth (І шляхом Істини поставясам...) was launched in Ukraine’s Zhytomyr State Polytechnic University.
The event brought together the teaching staff and students of the university, leading scholars, and mass media personnel. Yelena Denisyuk, Vice Rector in scientific and pedagogical issues and youth policy and Vasili Mamray, head of the international relations department, in their speeches shared views on Azerbaijan’s great poet Nasimi whose 650th birth anniversary is celebrated in Azerbaijan and worldwide. They stressed the importance of the collection in Ukrainian that creates a better idea on the poet’s work.
After the event, copies of the book were placed in the university library as well as Zhytomyr
Regional Literary Museum.
The meeting with director of the museum Vitali Yeremeyev discussed the distribution of copies of the book to public libraries and similar facilities across Ukraine.
The presentation of the book was launched in Ukraine’s Poltava University of Economics and Trade (PUET), as well. Marina Goncharuk, the project’s Executive Secretary addressed the teaching staff and students of the university, leading scholars, and arts people participants of the event. She spoke about Azerbaijan’s great poet Nasimi whose 650th birth anniversary is celebrated in Azerbaijan and worldwide.
Scenes from Nasimi film were demonstrated, and the poet’s poems were recited in Ukrainian.
After the event, copies of the book were placed in the university library.
