AzTC, Hellenic Foundation for Culture Greece meet
As part of the visit to Turkey to attend the 33rd International Istanbul Book Fair, Farid Huseyn, Media and Publishing Consultant at the Azerbaijan Translation Centre (AzTC) met with Mr Nopi Chatzigeorgiou, Coordinator at Hellenic Foundation for Culture, Greece.
Mr Chatzigeorgiou showed a great interest for AzTC’s activity and positively accepted creation of the official body in translation industry in Azerbaijan.
Mr Chatzigeorgiou spoke about mutual relations, joint projects and cooperation: “We are interested in publication and distribution of Greece literature and culture across the world, including Azerbaijan. It would be our pleasure to cooperate with the Azerbaijan Translation Centre that directly carries out translation activities. To this end, the Phrasis – Translation Funding Programme for Greek books was created. Participation of AzTC in this program would be efficient for both - the AzTC and us.”
Exchange of experience, holding scientific conferences and other proper events on translation industry fitting to the activity directions of both organizations were the focus of discussions.
Mr Chatzigeorgiou invited AzTC to participate in XII Salonica Book Fair on May 7-10, 2015 and proposed AzTC to have a separate stand to exhibit own publications.
