Azerbaijan to be guest of honour at Egypt’s Cairo book fair
January 30, 2015
The Translation Center under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Azerbaijan Republic (AzTC), representing our country at the 46th Cairo International Book Fair, will be the guest of honour at next year’s Cairo International Book Fair in Egypt.
This idea was coined by Dr. Ahmed Megahed, Chairman of the Board of the General Egyptian Book Organization (GEBO), and representatives of Egypt’s National Centre for Translation (NCT).
"The Translation Center is successfully representing Azerbaijan at this year’s book fair. Judging by the books on the bookstand, it becomes clear that the book publishing industry in Azerbaijan is organized at the highest level. We wish to see this country as the guest of honour at next year’s Cairo International Book Fair," it is said in a joint announcement.
It should be stated that the GEBO has already decided to assign an exhibition area of 150m2 for showcasing printing materials from Azerbaijan and to secure the participation of Azerbaijani delegation to consist of 20 people. As the guest of honour, Azerbaijan will also be provided with Hall Honorary, which, on a daily basis, will host lectures, discussions and events on Azerbaijan’s statehood, literature and culture, as well as on Karabakh truths.
