“Heroic Folk Epos” published in Azerbaijani
The Translation Centre under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Azerbaijan Republic (AzTC) has translated and published into Azerbaijani Narodny geroicheskiy epos (The Heroic Folk Epos) by Viktor Zhirmunsky. The book is a valuable research source for a comparative scientific analysis held between the heroic works of German and Roman, Russian and South Slavic, Central Asian, and Azerbaijani people, including the Book of Dede Korkut, Koroglu, Alpamus and the Kalevala (the national epos of the Finns).
The book is intended for a specialized audience, as well as scientific and training institutions.
Translator is Etimad Bashkechid, and the author of the preface to the publication is academician Mukhtar Imanov.
